Part-time position beginning in January 2024
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and/or upgrade gross motor skills - coordination, muscle tone, upper extremity muscle strength.
- Develop and/or upgrade fine motor skills - eye-hand coordination, prehension and manipulation.
- Develop self-care activities for the multiply handicapped; feeding and dressing training. Develop and/or upgrade perceptual motor skills – sensory integration, body image, spatial relationships and motor planning.
- Base treatment upon thorough evaluation of the child's performance and abilities in one or all of the above areas, and to maintain records, progress notes, and IEP for each child on case load.
- Serve as a resource person to teachers and other personnel with questions or problems in the above areas.
- Provide technical expertise/guidance to non-professional personnel.
- Plan for and participate in parent conferences, Child Study Team meetings and multidisciplinary staffings.
Requirements: State of Illinois Occupational Therapist License
