Job Description: Perform all phases of custodial duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Custodians, Custodial Leads and Building Principal. Maintain the facility in a safe, sanitary and aesthetic condition
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deactivate the alarm.
- Unlock doors and turn on lights as directed by the supervisor.
- Put up flag as directed.
- Read district and department memorandums daily.
- Inspect and clear building entrances of snow and/or debris.
- Inspect for interior/exterior vandalism and report to the Maintenance Department and advise the Principal/Supervisor.
- Verify that the heating and/or air conditioning are operational. Report malfunctions to the Maintenance Department and advise the Principal/Supervisor.
- Perform fire drills as directed.
- Dispose of all garbage, empty trashcans and replace liners.
- Report all corrective maintenance needs to the building or department secretary or submit work orders to the maintenance department.
- Report all personal injuries.
- Tag all malfunctioning cleaning equipment and leave for the warehouse to pick up.
- Order all custodial supplies and stock all custodial closets.
- Perform set-ups and teardowns for school and outside group activities.
- Receive and deliver all incoming materials.
- Receive, count and assist in milk distribution.
- Remove refuse from the exterior of the facility.
- Advise facility needs to other custodial staff.
- Complete reports as required.
- Perform minor corrective maintenance.
- Clean windows in the entrances and office areas.
